Accessibility in Digital Signage

WCAG 2.1 AA Conformance

At Carousel, accessibility, diversity, and inclusion are core values, not just legal check-boxes. We know that many of our partners face strict compliance deadlines, including Title II of the ADA and modern state mandates. We are committed to making sure your digital assets are accessible to every individual in your community, regardless of ability.

What We Built

True accessibility means both making the software easy to use for content creators and ensuring content can be consumed in accessible ways, including options beyond physical digital displays.

Accessible Software

Carousel's core interface supports access by a wide range of users with disabilities, including those who rely on assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen magnification, and keyboard-only navigation. The software also supports multiple languages, automatically switching to match a viewer's browser language settings.

The Carousel Accessibility (A11Y) Site

Designed to work with assistive technologies like screen readers, the A11Y Site gives people with visual impairments an alternative, accessible way to browse digital signage content (enabled with a single click) and available as a public website viewers can access on demand.

Branded Channels

Readability is top-of-mind for Carousel's channel design team, which selects color combinations that make messaging easier to view for people with visual impairments, including colorblindness. That said, final contrast compliance depends in part on the brand colors and content each customer chooses to use.

Who It Helps

Private companies and public sector organizations work hard to create digital signage content that delivers important messaging to employees, visitors, and customers. Ensuring that this content is accessible by all is an important best practice for those who prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion. Organizations with accessibility requirements can procure Carousel with confidence.

Verification

According to our most recent accessibility audit, our Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR), published in VPAT® format in September 2026, indicates that Carousel substantially conforms to the WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility requirements. We are committed to accessibility through ongoing monitoring, regular evaluation, and the integration of accessibility considerations throughout the product development lifecycle. To achieve and maintain these standards, we've partnered with Level Access. Their expert team helps us ensure our platform remains accessible, inclusive, and aligned with accessibility standards as we grow.

We're happy to share our updated documentation to help support your institution's compliance reviews.
